On the Saturday before the UK went into full lockdown, Emer & Jonathan got married.

With so much changing on the days leading up to their wedding, I’m sure it was a really unsettling time, not fully knowing if it was going to be allowed to go ahead. In the end the wedding went ahead, but unfortunately not in the way this lovely couple had planned.

This was another Irish/Scottish wedding for me, with lots of friends and family coming from Ireland and further afield, coupled with the limits on the numbers that were allowed to attend, it was a much smaller affair than they had both planned for…..but beautiul none the less.

The ceremony was held at St Paul’s in Hurlford and beautifully conducted by Father Gabriel…..social distancing adhered to 🙂

Their reception was to be held at Dumfries House, but due to the restrictions, they had to close to the public. However and very kindly, we were allowed to use the grounds of this stunning country estate to get some family photographs and images of the happy couple as I would normally do.

It may not have been the celebration that Emer and Johnathan had planned for, but it was still such a memorable occassion and a day that they will always cherish and never forget. Big upside is that they now have a year to plan for the party back at Dumfries House….and I fully expect the wedding dress to be on show again 🙂
